For a long time there really was a difference between GMC and Chevy trucks. I found a website for GMC trucks and another for Chevy and was suprised at the assortment of straight 6's! Before that the only ones I could remember were Chevy 216, 235 & 292.

Around 1970 a friend had a 292 in a full bodied '55 Chevy, but lots of 'glass and tube work. He turned high 9's and low 10's in the 1/4!!!
