Message:   I believe that's correct in that the 228 is a GMC only engine and not related at all to Chev. I put one in a early 50's era Chev pickup for a friend and it was a much longer engine. Had to make several modifications to make it work.

A high school chum had a really nice 348 tri-power 4 speed Impala that I waxed big time with my '64 383/3 speed post car. My buddy who was riding with me even wrote a poem about it. I ran across it a few years ago and made copies of it to give to him and his folks.
