Message:   The 228 is a GMC truck engine, NO relation to a Chev. A 248 head should work and the 270 might, the 302 I doubt, I don't know for sure. I played with the smaller ones way back when the the local dirt circle track had a 6 cyl class. They ran pretty strong but something about them rubbed me the wrong way and I left that scene behind me. Again, the GMC is no way interchangeable with Chevy.
