Message:   Decided I needed to get me a new work truck the other day and figured with all the bad press they've been getting with fuel prices what they are I'd be in a good position to get a deal.

So I figure I'll go hit the big three American makers who all just happened to be having big sales that weekend. Went to Ferd first, figured I'd just get that over with for comparisons sake. They didn't have any low optioned work trucks with an automatic and the inclusion of any options increased the price by several thousand dollars. All they had was a used "repo" but they wouldn't even tell me the price, I had to go sit with the "closer" to "negotiate". I passed.

On to Chebby. They had plenty of trucks, with and without options... All expensive! The salesman pushes me towards this stripped down white job that didn't even have air. I ask what the price is with the sale and all and he tells me I need to step into the office...blah blah blah... I tell him I'm not playing that game and want to know the price. He quotes $18k! The same price on the sticker, plus add a "couple thousand" for air! Apparently their "sale" didn't mean a discounted price.

Finally we head over to the Dodge dealership. The most courteous group of salespeople I've ever dealt with. No high pressure, no wanting a photocopy of my license or headgames. They had a deal going where they had discounted all their trucks $5k right off the top. I found a pretty much loaded full size that I really liked that was cheaper than the stripped chebby and much nicer driving. I was able to negotiate the price down another $1k plus they gave me close to retail on my trade. I love the new truck and couldn't be happier with my deal! Nows a good time to buy if you're in the market....
