Message:   Got it back in - and all seems to be going well.

Ended up making my own gasket out of some gasket material that I had around. I couldn't get a reading on the tube to measure the gap (it seemed to be flush against the casing), so I went with the material that was a little thicker than what came out of it.

Wrestled the tranny back in and gave it a test drive - seemed to work good and ... NO LEAKS!!!! No vibrations or weird noises either.

We'll see how it goes - if I have to pull it out again, I've got it down to a science, now.

Thanks for everybody's help!
