Message:   I looked at the service manual last night and the 3speed 745 does have an internal seal on the throwout bearing tube. The 420 does not.

The 833 4 speed I rebuilt for the Road Runner also has the internal seal - which is making me think that these work trucks weren't as "tidy" as the passenger vehicles - and that a little oil puddle never hurt anybody - maybe I am just overfilling and the bottom of the input hole isn't the appropriate measure of "full".

I am concerned on how low the lube will go before it reaches the "equilibrium" and if it is going to burn anything up.
