Message:   That textured roof paint was a base coat paint with the textured part sprayed over it. It was popular in the late sixties. I had a 53 Plymouth sprayed with it. There was a two-step tape that you used to simulate the seams in a real vinyl top. You applied the tape before spraying the texture. I think it is very similar to the rocker guard stuff that is in use today. Actually, the textured tops on Sweptlines started before the Dude package was introduced and was available on any Sweptline.
