Message:   I've owned mine for a little over a year. If you can find one like I did, with only 25000 miles on it, then most of the mechanical stuff will be in decent shape. Mine has a factory power steering which is a huge asset in this truck. It also has a vacuum booster system in the brakes, which also gives it tremendous stopping power. It'll put your nose on the steering wheel if you brake too hard. I had a problem with the brake system freezing up a couple of weeks ago, but it's warmer now and working fine. I plan to purge the lines and system and replace the fluid in it. I haven't had to search for anything yet, in the way of parts, but the drive axles and the transfer case are Rockwell and the transmission is New Process so parts should be out there. Otherwise, u-joints, brake parts, clutch, etc. should be available through NAPA or otherwise parts store. Last question: "Are they rough riding and loud"? What? I can't hear you. I'll try to answer when I get back from the chiropractor. It's hard to find a cooler truck. Practical? That depends on your definition. What can I say?
