Message:   Another problem is that some possible takover groups don't have to 'play fair' by our standards. In America the government can't jump in and throw it's power and financial resources [which it doesn't have of course] behind a company to aid in a buyout. Not so in Korea and China, where such a takeover deal could be viewed as another block in the foundation of world dominance. They don't play by much of the rest of the world's rules and nothing we can do about it.

Interesting to consider that for all we know Daimler AG might not even be all that interested in staying in the brutally competitive automobile manufacturing business! There's huge money to be made as an engineering conglomerate without all the need of hardware and mfg. facilities. Such a company does the engineering and then slaps their famous name on a product made by a smaller or lesser company thereby eliminating all those pesky production headaches. Kaching kaching.
