Message:   I agree it's plenty! We forget nowadays how many 383-440 engines came equipped with one puny 300-350 cfm 2bbl, and held their own just fine. Even with a strong torque cam and small headers that's more than enough carb. Where they get to breathing hard is prolonged high rpms where you need max cfm: high lift cam, good flowing head$ and large headers. My '77 W-200 with a '78 400 2bbl had lots of power, so a 600-650 is plenty for some good power.
