Message:   Ah, u must not have looked at these damnable stock 16" split rims too closely. They DO have the drop center groove, so mounting would be no problem.
Its that groove that makes them such a royal pain in the ass to mount as a split rim. When trying to install the rim, the flap and tube drop into that groove and the tire bead bypasses them, leaving them sticking out where they interfere with the rim.
I mount/dismount my 8.25x20's on split rims all day long with a bead breaker sledge and tire irons - no problem...but those 16's with that groove are almost impossible!
