Message:   I keep seeing the American manufacturers products listed, but where are the Nisson and Toyota SUVs and trucks mantioned? The full sized models get no better mileage than comparable sized American products.
My Suburban gets 17-18 in every day driving, which is mostly in traffic. I don't drive it much and put about 25 gallons of gas in it per month, but I enjoy having it when I want to carry more than four people comfortably. So how much would it help the environment to scrap it and buy a new vehicle which might slightly better mileage. A ten percent increase in mileage would save 2.5 gallons per month. That's the problem with vehicle scrappage laws that our incompetent politicians come up with. They don't know how much a vehicle is used, or what it's used for. The past scrappage programs have only hurt the environment so you'd think they would learn. They don't mind flying coast to coast in a private jet but they want everyone else to ride bicycles.
