Message:   I have nothing against TQ's except their complexity. They're my second favorite 4bbl carb.

By their design a guy can use a larger TQ than in another carb design. But remember, back in those days fuel efficiency had nothing to do with anything, who cared?

The Edelbrock manages to match the TQ performance, much more economically, in a smaller CFM rating. TQ parts are hard to come by, Eddies are availble most anywhere that sells auto parts. TQ's are more difficult to set up & maintain, Edelbrocks are the most easily tuneable carburetor made. Eddie tuning parts & instructions are readily available. Eddies are far easier and quicker to dial in. TQ's can suffer serious warpage problems, unheard of on Eddies. TQ is an older and less efficient design. Eddies are all state of the art re-engineered by Weber on a proven design by Carter. TQ's have little technical support. Eddies are backed by all manner of tech support.

Not saying there's anything wrong with TQ, but simply that Edelbrock seems to offer more bang for the buck across the board.
