Message:   1. What is the deal with the pushbutton trans and clutch? Do you clutch it when you start it? Are they reliable or junk?

If it still has it's original pushbutton tranny it is just like any other automatic except that you select the gear with a button instead of a lever. No clutch involved. Does the truck have an automatic transmission or straight shift? Is there a shift lever somewhere? If there's no shifter lever anywhere it sounds like someone converted it to automatic and left the pedal, or started converting to straight shift. It would have come with a 727 Torqueflight tranny (called LoadFlight in a truck) which is a very good tranny.

4. Are the wheel cylinders and brake shoes easy to
find and cheap?

Parts are cheap and available. If it still has the original rear axle getting the drums off will be a new adventure for you.

6. Does anyone make rubber window channel for the windshield and rear glass?

I like Restoration Specialties for the rubber parts but there's other sources as well. www.restorationspecialt.com.

Post some pictures. It's impossible to tell what you have without seeing it. Sounds like an interesting truck.
