Message:   1. What is the deal with the pushbutton trans and clutch? Do you clutch it when you start it? Are they reliable or junk?

Doesn't sound good! Only thing similar I know of is a 'Clutch-Flite' trans, strictly for racing. Ultra rare and expensive, can't imagine one in a '61 Dodge pickup. Other possibility is someone changed from manual to auto and left the clutch hardware, or was changing from auto to manual and ran out of meth.

Other insane possibility is the truck has a 40's-50's Fluid-Drive tranny which had a clutch pedal but was automatic shift by letting off the gas a bit. I never heard of a pushbutton Fluid-Drive though.

2. There is a something called an electric magneto that looks like a coil with a heat sink? Is this original?

Mallory made something like that, Vertex Magneto did it first and best. Mainly a race part, beginning to wonder what you've got there!??

3. What kind of rear-end is in these trucks? It has a slant 6 and the pushbutton. Are they Posi's or one legged wonders.

Both were available, gotta jack up the back end and spin a wheel to find out. Should be an 8.75" called 8 3/4, a very strong rearend! The earliest are thought to be better than the later ones. Look on the side of case and see if there's a cast number ending in 761 or 762 or 489.

4. Are the wheel cylinders and brake shoes easy to find and cheap?

Yes, easy & cheap, and one fella sells stainless steel relined master & wheel cylinders, an excellent idea if this is a keeper truck.

5. I need two head lights and one blinker. Where can I find them?

Headlight @ auto parts store & blinker somebody here probably has one?

6. Does anyone make rubber window channel for the windshield and rear glass?

Yes, Clester's has windshield channel and rear window channel is available, can't remember where.
