Message:   There is an exception, Robin. My Town Wagon has excellent drum brakes that stop it very well, at high pedal effort. But, one BIG difference between drum and disc you didn't mention: brake fade due to heat! That's a very real thing on drum brakes unless carbon metallic linings are used, but on discs, it's a non-issue. Overall, discs have lower pedal effort in a manual non-power brake setup too.
