Message:   Okay, I'm presuming this is a Saginaw box. Should have three bolts holding the sector shaft cover plate and and has an "S" cast into the housing.

Basically, you put it all back together tightening the bolts that hold the cover plate on. The way the technical service manual then has you do it, is measuring the torque that it takes to turn the worm gear while making the two adjustments (tighten them until it takes a certain amount of force to turn the worm).

First you adjust the pressure on the worm bearings with the sector all the way loose, then you adjust the sector. The problem with this method is I don't remember what the torque specks are. Someone else might be able to help you out or I can check in my manual at home.

The other way is doing exatly the same thing but you don't need a torque wrench and you install the steering box and measure the torgue with a pound scale on the steering wheel. See the Dodge Link for that.

Matt

PS. Thank Jimmie D for showing me the link!
