Message:   If you ever weld on a car/truck be sure to disconect the battery, both post is safest. Some has said it wont hurt anything muffler shops ect but i dont believe it helps the battery cause the power is going in the battery thru neg con.Kind of a chargeing with the post swaped.(- on + and + on -)No facts on that just my quess.I had a good batery in a 77 Dodge Truck and welded a crack in the bumper(rear) when i walked to the front i smelled something burning and lifted the hood and the neg cable was bare the black plastic around it burned off,and the battery was no charge.I would disconect the battery, just in case.On my 77 3500 i had my 4inch exhaust put on and they did a small amount of welding on it 2 weeks latter both batters started losing charge and died,3yr old with 6 yr warranty. They say it dont hurt but its a very hard sell to me.......JB
