Message:   Yep, Slanty is awesome. I was having real hard times middle of last century and best I could do was buy a '66 Dart 4dr Slantmobile with a rod knocking for $20.

Was in the super redneck capital of America, Jackson, Miss, and they'all just din't like no dammm yankee boy nohow, so no money to be made by this pilgrim: drive it. I did, for 6 months, knocking merrily away as economical daily transportation.

Finally made the great escape for the sake of life & limb, driving a few hundred miles south, trying to make north Florida. All our worldly possessions in the trunk if that tells ya enything!

That old girl rattled & clunked its way on 98 all the way to Loxley, Alabama in a fierce southern thunderstorm, blacker than the devil's heart and raining like Noah's worst imaginings, before it breathed its last at 3 AM in the middle of nowhere.

God bless that mysterious Christian trucker that pulled over, loaded us and all in his sleeper and rolled us in to Florida, also paying for a few days in a fine motel without telling us before he left!

No other engine on the face of the earth then, before or after that could do what that faithful little Slant 6 did, stinking shame I had to leave it behind.

I thank the Good Lord for getting us into that car and outta that town, life began again thereafter.
