Message:   Try to make this short: bought a '63 VW sunroof bug from a friend cheap. As I was leaving he said, "Oh, the wipers are held together with rubber bands hahaha, see ya..." and I was gone. Month later a sudden downpour and hit the wipers, went furiously for several passes then died. Pulled over under a well placed freeway overpass, popped lid and pulled off that cardboard cover over back of dash. Dropped lid and started walking to the stationary store at the top of the hill. Bought a box of rubber bands. Rebuilt wiper moter and got down the road.

Months later when I sold it I told the guy as he left, "Oh, the wipers are held together with rubber bands hahaha, see ya...."
