Message:   It sounds like you use the truck. If you switch to a taller gear you will lose some power or 'ability' when it comes to working the truck. If you are running a 383 or larger you can afford this loss, running 318 or smaller and you may not be happy with the reduction in performance. What I would do in England is buy a Laycock OD unit and have a machinist make you a plate for the front of it and mount it remotely behind you trans. there was a guy over here doing this but has since given it up. Used Laycock ODs gotta be cheap over there. I love 4.10 gears. My 82 has 3.55s in it and its a dog.
