Message:   Couldn't get any POR-15.com pages to load. Net sellers didn't give much info. According to MSDS it is phosphoric acid, zinc phosphate and octylphenoxy polyethanol ethanol which is probably used as a binder and stabilizer and asssists in flow characteristics.

The Jasco product is phosphoric acid and accomplishes the same rust conversion as Metal Ready, but lacks the zinc phosphate. A weld-thru primer contains zinc phosphate, and you can put it on as heavy as you want, plus overcoat heavily after welding. I'm sure the Metal Ready is a good product, and I appreciate the link.

I'm not convinced to use the weldthru primer either, or any zinc product, as some say it has a negative electrolytic action [anode/cathode] and can actually draw moisture and CAUSE rust! I'll probably use the Jasco Prep and Primer then weld ASAP and slosh on the Rustoleum Damp-proof Red even while it's still hot. That gets followed by 3M Shutz, and more paint so it should be nearly impervious to further rust? Very good tips and I appreciate the help, and hope the current plan works..... Thanks!
