Message:   I'm working on the Town Wagon and have a problem at the fender well/lip in the rear.

On a TW the body sides and floor are not structurally connected except at the cab door pillars, wheel well, and rear door support structure. This means that wheel well rust is a serious structural problem! But, because of the design you can't get in there with a wire brush, and I don't have a sand blaster.

I have the means to rebuild the metal work, but am challenged by the rust issue. What will kill it? Naval Jelly? Because of the open sides I can flush liberally with water after whatever treatment is used. I will have to weld on this metal, so paint or coatings aren't an option. Thanks for any info....
