Message:   I did not realize that there were more than one large style. My truck is a 54 TP on a 63 Tw frame and running gear. I have a 5 sp direct drive trans out of an old 21/2 ton truck, Stock transfer case. I took the large shafts and yokes out of a 68 sweptline military ambulance. The only # i can find is on the female side of the driveshaft. Its a detroit #0538101. I am useing precision u-joint #304. The idea on the straps is good but my biggest worry is the drive shaft ends which are pressed in without straps. If I could just buy a short drive I would be happy. Anyone have a used on?? The amazing thing is the truck still goes great with no vibration. I want to keep the same size joints all around so I only need to carry one type of spare. the drive line shop here can build me a new one but the u -joints would be different. Thanks for the info.Don
