Message:   .....The 500 is looking good lately,,, I am going to put in another full day tommorrow, I will start installing the decking on the bed and after I get it secured with carraige bolts I will int\stall the diesel fuel tank on the front of the bed....This dumpbed I welded on was 13 ft long so I lopped off enough to get it cut down to right at 11.5 ft long by 8 ft wide...the tank will take 18 inches off the front and then I will have around 9.5 of flatbed left....I am putting a manmade material on for maintainence purposes and that material fits real nice right up to the top of the sides, ALMOST flush....When I lopped the rear I trashed the end of the bed because it was hammered so bad I didnt want to waste my time trying to straighten it up so I needed a piece of channel iron about 10 inches tall and 8 ft long so I dug around and found a piece of framerail off an old D500 that I had stashed out back and cut out wedges off the bottom of both ends and then welded up the straight piece that I left at the bottom and it shaped real nice so that the 30 or so inches in the center are 10 inches and then the ends narrow down to meet the siderails of the bed at 5.5 inches,,, looks real good...then I welded 4 stake pockets all measured out evenly and plumb and square so I can run 6 inch panels at the rear and down the sides and flare them up to 18 in. to meet the tank...I will make the sides out of aluminum diamond plate and run one accrost behind the tank at 18 inches to protect the tank from sliding equipment....I am still toiling thru the wireing problem with the turn sig and flasher but maybe Dok will come to my rescue if he has time.....(I WILL PAY!! I HAVE MONEY!!!.. )..I painted all the chassis from front to back with black industry enamel and it looks cool and will finalize the ext. of the cab paint when the bed is done and I get a sunny day....I will leave the int. of the cab white and the ext. will be CAT yellow to match the color of the skidsteer tractor......engine install is complete and with one pump of the gas and a turn of the key it purrs like a kitten.......I will shoot a few pics of it in the AM and see if I can get them posted...........................BNC.
